Viking ship (Kvitserk)

A viking knarr...

This Viking ship is a sister ship and a faithful copy of Saga Siglar which was used in the circumnavigation and which sank during a storm in the Mediterranean in May 1992. The boat was then on its way to the world exhibition in Seville together with the Oseberg specimen «Oseberg».

Both Kvitserk and the sister ship Saga Siglar were both built in Bjørkedalen, Volda. The ship is 16.4 meters long and was completed in 1994.

The ship is named after a glacier in Greenland.
