Classic Norway Hotels buys Hotel Refsnes Gods
on Jeløy near Moss
We are pleased that Hotel Refsnes Gods is becoming a part of Classic Norway Hotels, says Chairman Erik Berg in Classic Norway Hotels.
Refsnes Gods will be an icon in a chain with focus on acquiring prime hotels with a strong historic foundation. Refsnes Gods, with its focus on art and history, is among the most exciting products in the Norwegian hotel world.
The seller of Refsnes Gods, The Salbuvik family, continues part of their ownership through shares in Classic Norway Property. Widar Salbuvik says it is very exciting to be one of the owners in the fast growing Classic Norway system. Including Refsnes Gods, the chain now counts as many as 18 hotels, and estimates a turnover for 2019 of just over NOK 400 million. The target of half a billion kroner by the end of 2020 is thus expected to be exceeded by a good margin.
Classic Norway Hotels is today owned by 86% of the family companies Berg Inverst and Canica with equal share distribution. The remaining shares are owned by some smaller investors. Offers for co-ownership in Classic Norway Hotels quickly facilitated agreement between the parties, says Erik Berg and Widar Salbuvik. The tourism industry, and especially this segment, is in good development in Norway. We therefore strongly believe that Classic Norway Hotels will develop into a solid and profitable investment, says Widar Salbuvik. Molde / Moss February 11, 2019
