Flatflesa lighthouse is a unique destination, an experience completely out of the ordinary. Here you stay on a small islet in the open ocean. «Flesa» means cliff. This cliff has all the facilities you need to have a comfortable stay. It is also very safe, even in all kinds of weather. Here the houses have stood safe and sound for 116 years.
Since 1902 there has been activity at Flatflesa lighthouse. Seven lighthouse keepers have worked and lived here, some of them with their families. The lighthouse was resided and staffed from 1902 and until 1988. Today the lighthouse is automatic.
In 2018, a comprehensive restoration was carried out in collaboration with the Norwegian Coastal Administration. The lighthouse keeper's house has got new roof and new windows, and eternity plates have been removed. I addition and a new beautiful railing has been put up all over the islet.
We wish a warm welcome to old and new guests to this spectacular experience.
