MOHNS TOPP - SOFARUTA
Molladalen is a magnificent sight. Climbing is nice and firm. Grading is about a 4+.
Bladet is a distinctive pinnacle in Molladalen. It is located next to the peaks of Mohns topp and Randers topp. Climbing is not as difficult as the pictures give the impression of. In the summer time, June to October, it is most common to enter from the side of Molladalen. There are several roads to the top, and different climbing routes. Many people chose to tent in Molladalen and do the climb in two or more days. This gives you a bigger chance for a good view when you are up at Bladet and climbing on the granite from Molladalen the other days is also quite a treat.
In Sunnmøre there are many peaks and ridges that are something in between climbing and hiking. Not too difficult, but unprotected enough to make it feel safer to have a rope to hold on to. We use rope techniques reminiscent of those used hundred years ago by Slingsby og Patchell. Our trips follow in their footsteps. Gait, balance and moving according to ability is still the most important thing, not the equipment. The course is based on many of the same rope routines that were used 100 years ago (although we have modern equipment of course). These techniques are quick and excellent to use in terrain alternating between climbing and hiking. Climbing, rappelling and safety techniques are all relevant topics. Norwegian guides tailor all trips and courses for the participants. Maybe you have your own ideas or projects you want to implement.
